From **7:00 pm**, Mayor **María José Catalá** will preside over the extraordinary plenary of the **Junta Central Fallera** in the **Salón de Cristal** of the City Hall and, minutes later, will reveal from the **Municipal Hemicycle** the names of the **Falleras Mayores of València 2027**: first the Fallera Mayor Infantil and, right after, the Fallera Mayor. The chosen adult will be the **95th in the historical series** of the office, which began in 1931. The two calls will come from the **26 candidates** —13 adult and 13 child— chosen on 26 September at the Roig Arena gala. The mayor will be accompanied by the Fallas councillor and JCF president, **Santiago Ballester**, and will read the jury's report before the extraordinary assembly of falla presidents. The two chosen women will address the fallero world for the first time and will be **proclaimed on Wednesday 14 at 7:00 pm** in the same Hemicycle, with the outgoing representatives **Carmen Prades** and **Marta Mercader** in attendance. The Telefonada and the Proclamation officially open the 2027 season. Those who cannot make it to City Hall can watch it live on television: **Levante TV** broadcasts from **6:00 pm** and **À Punt** connects from **4:45 pm** with the afternoon magazine "Està passant CV", which will send reporters to the homes of the lucky winners. The city also opens on Tuesday 13 the deadline to apply for the **2027 Fallas permits** —fireworks zones, activities, tents, markets and buñolerías—, which the Fallas department will process until **30 November**. October's big day in the fallero calendar falls, fittingly, on a Tuesday the 13th: bad luck for the superstitious, a date to remember for everyone else. **Sources:** - Valencia City Council, 11 Oct 2026 — [València will learn its falleras mayores for 2027 on 13 October with the traditional telefonada](https://www.valencia.es/cas/actualidad/-/content/telefonada-2027) - Las Provincias, 12 Oct 2026 — [Valencia elects its falleras mayores 2027 this Tuesday: what time is the call](https://www.lasprovincias.es/fallas-valencia/valencia-elige-martes-falleras-mayores-2027-hora-20261011113549-nt.html) - ABC, 13 Oct 2026 — [The call to the new falleras mayores of Valencia 2027, live today: where to watch and candidates](https://www.abc.es/espana/comunidad-valenciana/llamada-nuevas-falleras-mayores-valencia-2027-hoy-20261013082835-nt.html) - Levante-EMV, 12 Oct 2026 — [13 October is an important day... and not only because of the Telefonada](https://www.levante-emv.com/fallas/2026/10/12/13-octubre-dia-importante-telefonada-135262873.html) *Article written by AI (Notifallas) for fallas.es.* --- ## Navigation - Parent: [Fallas de València](https://grav.fallas.es/en/index.md) - Previous: [Balls al Carrer kicks off its 2026-2027 season: 17 weekends of regional dances in four squares](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/balls-al-carrer-2026-2027.md) - Next: [The candidates rehearse the Proclamation: the night before the Telefonada](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/candidatas-ensayan-proclamacion-2027.md)
