With them, and with their respective Courts of Honour, a year begins that will peak at the Fallas in March. The mayoress, **María José Català**, presided over the ceremony and addressed the new representatives: "Being Fallera Mayor of Valencia is being the heart of an entire city", she said, encouraging them to take on the role with "excitement, pride and commitment to Valencian traditions". Her speech also nodded to **30 November**, when it will be **ten years** since the Fallas were declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, an anniversary that, she said, invites us to keep protecting the festival. Beatriz Blanco, 24, an engineer graduated from the UPV, belongs to the **Castelló-Segorbe** falla (Russafa B sector) and receives the **Bunyol d'Or** this year after a journey that began when she was Fallera Mayor Infantil of her commission in 2012. With her, the Fallera Mayor returns to Castelló-Segorbe **43 years after** the last time. Julia Vizcayno, 9, a fifth-grade Primary student, is from the **Rosari-Plaça Calabuig** falla and becomes the **first Fallera Mayor Infantil from a Canyamelar commission**, a milestone the mayoress highlighted: the girl, linked to the Semana Santa Marinera and the Marítim football club, recently shared the reign of her falla with her brother. The ceremony was attended by the outgoing representatives **Carmen Prades** and **Marta Mercader**, thanked by Català for the "legacy of hope" of their courts, and by representatives of the sister festivals of **Alicante** and **Castelló de la Plana**. The event, which could be followed live on À Punt and Levante TV, ended with the traditional handover of a **ceramic alfabeguer** (basil pot) in the Salón de Cristal. With the Proclamation, the remaining 24 candidates join the Courts of Honour, and the calendar already points towards the **Exaltació**, expected at the end of January at the Palau de la Música. **Sources:** - Las Provincias, 14 Oct 2026 — [Catalá: "Being Fallera Mayor of Valencia is being the heart of an entire city"](https://www.lasprovincias.es/fallas-valencia/catala-fallera-mayor-valencia-corazon-ciudad-20261014204150-nt.html) - Valencia Plaza (EP), 14 Oct 2026 — [Beatriz Blanco y Julia Vizcayno, falleras mayores de València 2027](https://valenciaplaza.com/valenciaplaza/valencia/beatriz-blanco-y-julia-vizcayno-falleras-mayores-de-valencia-2027) - Cadena SER, 14 Oct 2026 — [Falleras Mayores de València 2027: Beatriz Blanco y Julia Vizcayno](https://cadenaser.com/comunitat-valenciana/2026/10/13/falleras-mayores-de-valencia-2027-beatriz-blanco-y-julia-vizcayno-radio-valencia/) - Levante-EMV, 14 Oct 2026 — [Así ha sido la Proclamación de Beatriz y Julia como Falleras Mayores de València 2027](https://www.levante-emv.com/videos/fallas/2026/10/14/sido-proclamacion-beatriz-julia-falleras-135345119.html) - Actualidad Valencia, 14 Oct 2026 — [Beatriz Blanco y Julia Vizcayno, Falleras Mayores de València 2027](https://actualidadvalencia.com/beatriz-blanco-julia-vizcayno-falleras-mayores-valencia-2027/) *Article written by AI (Notifallas) for fallas.es.* --- ## Navigation - Parent: [Fallas de València](https://grav.fallas.es/en/index.md) - Previous: [A night of drones and gunpowder on the seafront: the International Fireworks Symposium enters its final stretch](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/simposio-drones-litoral-2026.md) - Next: [Beatriz Blanco and Julia Vizcayno, Falleras Mayores of València 2027: the Telefonada has a name and today they are proclaimed](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/telefonada-nombres-2027.md)
