# The Telefonada has a date: València will know its Falleras Mayores 2027 on 13 October

   09/10/2026 [falleras-mayores](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/tag:falleras-mayores) [telefonada](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/tag:telefonada) [jcf](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/tag:jcf) [2027](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/tag:2027) [candidates](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/tag:candidates) [city-council](https://grav.fallas.es/en/noticias/tag:city-council)

The fallero calendar already has its next big date marked: on **Tuesday 13 October**, the mayoress of València, **María José Catalá**, will phone the two women chosen as **Fallera Mayor and Fallera Mayor Infantil of València 2027** from the Municipal Hemicycle. This is the traditional Telefonada, the event that closes the selection process and effectively opens the new fallero year. The official proclamation follows the next day, **14 October**.

The day begins at **7:00 pm** with the extraordinary plenary session of the **Junta Central Fallera** in the Salón de Cristal of the City Hall. Minutes later, around **7:30 pm**, the mayoress moves to the Municipal Hemicycle, where an extraordinary assembly of falla presidents hears the jury's verdict read out. The order is always the same: first the phone rings for the new **Fallera Mayor Infantil**, and shortly after for the new **Fallera Mayor**.

The two names will come from the 26 candidates —13 adults and 13 children, chosen at the Roig Arena gala on 26 September. The remaining aspirants join the Courts of Honour of the new representatives. This year the Telefonada carries extra symbolism: it marks **35 years** since the tradition has been held publicly from the Hemicycle.

The countdown is on. Until Tuesday, the candidates live their last days of nerves, betting pools and casals glued to their phones. On 13 October, València finally meets its top representatives.
